Awards

Every year, NHA donates award money to juried fairs and events for handspun skein contests. If you would be interested in having an NHA-sponsored award at your event, here's what you need to do:

  1. First, complete the Award Application Form and send it to your State Representative.
  2. The State Representative will get approval from the NHA Board of Directors and notify you when it has been approved.
  3. The State Representative will then send you the necessary paperwork.
  4. You are required to post a small sign about NHA sponsorship (included in your paperwork packet) at the site of the contest. In addition, if possible, a mention of the NHA sponsorship in your Fair program (if there is one) would also be appreciated.
  5. When the contest is juried and the winner announced, the event organizer gives the winner an envelope which includes instructions for completing the paperwork and receiving the award money.
  6. The winner fills out the necessary paperwork and sends it directly to the NHA Treasurer.
  7. The NHA Treasurer then sends the award money directly to the winner.
